Born and raised in California, Michelle is originally from Orange County and moved to the Bay Area to complete her Bachelor's in Public Health with a minor in Public Policy from University of California at Berkeley. She has been working at DCYF for 10 years, originally starting off as a part-time summer monitor! Prior to working for DCYF, she worked as a Program Development & Support Assistant at the California Department of Public Health, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch, reviewing and editing nutrition education materials. She was also a Community Liaison Intern for the UCSF Alliance Health Project building relationships to raise funds for LGBTQ mental health services.

What inspires you to do this work?

Michelle participated in the free-reduced price meals program as a child and being involved in DCYF's nutrition program for the most at-risk youth in San Francisco has made the work truly rewarding and makes the working experience full-circle.

Is there a song or anthem that inspires your grind and motivates you to serve our communities?
